What is transceiver recoding for Huawei?

Huawei’s VRP operating system checks the transceiver’s identification information (vendor name and part number) before enabling the port. That is why the same SFP can be accepted on one model or firmware release and rejected on another. Why does my Huawei network equipment not accept an SFP from another brand and leave the port Down or without link?

Huawei equipment checks the transceiver's identification information (vendor name and part number) before enabling the port.
