Cisco SFP compatibility matrix by model and PID
This page is a quick lookup reference: use it to find, by network equipment model and by part number (PID), the Cisco compatible SFP transceiver EON Technology can supply. How to use this matrix
- Locate your Cisco network equipment family.
- Choose the port form factor: SFP (1G), SFP+ (10G), SFP28 (25G), QSFP+ (40G), QSFP28 (100G) or QSFP-DD, plus DAC and AOC cables.
- Look up the Cisco PID (for example GLC-SX-MMD or SFP-10G-SR): that part number is the row key we map to the EON compatible SKU.

On current Catalyst and Nexus platforms the row is identified by a GLC or SFP-10G PID; on Cisco Meraki the same link requires the MA-SFP-* family, which is why the Meraki compatible SFP is mapped separately.

Each row specifies multimode vs single-mode, reach (meters or km), wavelength and connector type (duplex LC, RJ45 or BiDi): those are the data that determine whether the module links on your port.
What we validate before dispatch
EON adapts and validates compatibility against four variables: the exact model (including the line card), firmware/OS (IOS, IOS-XE or NX-OS), port and optical part number. On Catalyst platforms running IOS-XE some ports require the service unsupported-transceiver command to avoid the err-disabled state; we account for it by model and release. DOM/DDM monitoring keeps reporting power and temperature on the port, which is useful for link diagnostics.

The Cisco TMG Optics Compatibility Matrix (tmgmatrix.cisco.com) is the official matrix that lists which optics each model and line card support; the compatible transceiver replicates that compatibility through its PID. Before requesting a quote, have at hand: model + line card, firmware, form factor, multimode or single-mode, reach and connector type. We work on multivendor infrastructure.
