Fortinet equipment families as the matrix axes

Each cell combines form factor, wavelength and reach: multimode (MM) 850 nm for short runs and single-mode (SM) 1310/1550 nm for long distances, plus BiDi variants, SFP-T/RJ45 copper and DAC/AOC assemblies for stacking and uplinks. Firmware and operating mode as the validated status

We record the release on which each module was verified: FortiOS 7.0, 7.2 and 7.4 on FortiGate, and FortiSwitchOS on FortiSwitch, both in managed FortiLink mode and in standalone operation. What do I do if FortiOS shows the transceiver as 'unknown' or does not recognize it?

First check that the equipment model and the FortiOS release match the matrix row: a correct module on a firmware release not yet covered can show as 'unknown'.
