This page is the quick lookup reference by model: locate your HPE Aruba network platform, cross it with the port form factor and get the equivalent optical part number for an HP compatible SFP or SFP+. EON Technology validates HPE Aruba transceiver compatibility by model, firmware, port and optical part number. We do not modify the equipment: we adapt and validate the module’s compatibility for the target platform, following a multivendor approach.

Form factors and optics (column axis)
Each column corresponds to a speed and a form factor: SFP 1G (1000BASE-T/SX/LX), SFP+ 10G (10GBASE-SR/LR/T), SFP28 25G, QSFP+ 40G, QSFP28 100G and QSFP-DD 400G. The cell defines the module’s optics: BASE type, wavelength (850 / 1310 / 1550 nm), reach, fiber (MMF OM3/OM4 or SMF) and connector (LC, RJ45 or MPO).
OEM equivalence by part number (SKU)
We map the HPE SKU to the EON part number while preserving BASE type, wavelength, reach and connector, with significant savings versus the OEM SKU:
- J-code (ProCurve): J4858D, J9150D (SFP+ SR), J9151E (SFP+ LR), J9054D → equivalent EON part number.
- JL/P-code (Aruba CX): P06149-B21, P08421-B21 → equivalent EON part number.

Enablement by generation
HPE ProCurve enables modules globally, while ArubaOS-CX (release 10.06 or later) enables them per interface. Here we only indicate the state per platform; the exact procedure and commands are covered by the transceiver recoding service.
Direct attach DAC/AOC cables
DAC/AOC cables (0.5 / 1 / 3 / 5 / 10 m) are a category of their own for stacking and short-reach links. They are validated by model and port with the same criteria as transceivers.
What to check before ordering
Have at hand the exact model, the firmware/OS release, the target port and the optical part number (or the HPE SKU). With those four data points we confirm the correct matrix row. The product carries a 1- to 5-year product warranty depending on the line. The recoding work carries 90-day service coverage.
