Since ArubaOS 16.02, the allow unsupported transceiver command enables non-HPE modules and DAC/AOC cables, although with restrictions (warnings and partial functionality). Adapting the module itself aims for more transparent operation on the port, without relying on that console setting.

When a module is unsupported, it is common to see the port in an “unsupported transceiver” state (the ArubaOS-CX unsupported transceiver notice), a link that does not come up, a disabled port or missing optical readings (DDM/DOM). After we adapt and validate compatibility, the platform accepts the module and you recover optical monitoring.
