What is a QSFP+ transceiver?
A QSFP+ 40G transceiver (40G QSFP+ module) is the four-lane optic for 40 Gbps (40GbE) links, defined by IEEE 802.3ba. It is the standard in uplinks and trunks in the data center and campus, and it can also operate as 4 links of 10G (4×10G breakout) to make better use of each port.
At EON Technology we offer them multivendor, with compatibility validated by model, firmware, port and optical part number, so they integrate into infrastructures from several manufacturers without depending on a single supplier.
40G QSFP+ modules: SR4, LR4 and BiDi
- QSFP+ MPO — 40GBASE-SR4: multimode fiber with an MPO/MTP connector (8 fibers), short data center distances (~100–150 m). See the 40G QSFP+ MPO transceiver.
- QSFP+ duplex (LC) — 40GBASE-LR4 and 40G QSFP BiDi: 4 multiplexed wavelengths over one single-mode fiber pair with a duplex LC connector, up to 10 km; the BiDi variant reuses existing duplex multimode fiber. See the 40G QSFP+ duplex transceiver.
Every part number includes DDM/DOM for real-time monitoring of optical power, temperature and voltage.
Why choose EON QSFP+ transceivers
- Multivendor integration with validated compatibility; if your platform requires a specific profile, we adapt and validate compatibility through transceiver recoding with 90-day service coverage.
- Significant savings compared with the original OEM module price, while keeping the optical performance.
- 1- to 5-year product warranty and engineering support before and after purchase. EON serves Latin America and Spain from a centralized operation in Colombia.
- Typical dispatch in 48h*. *Subject to inventory, destination country, carrier, customs, the customer’s import process and third-party logistics conditions.
Need SR4 (MPO), LR4 (duplex) or a 4×10G breakout configuration? Check the compatibility matrix or request a quote and we validate the optical part number for your equipment.
